Aayush Garg warns against negligence; stresses strict compliance

way2barak, March 30: With the Assembly Election, 2026 drawing closer, the Cachar District Administration has further intensified its preparedness, asking poll personnel to leave no stone unturned for ensuring a complete free and fair election. As the district along with others will go to poll on April 9, and the counting of votes slated for May 4, 2026, the administration has entered into a decisive phase to make sure that the right of franchise can be availed of by all sections of voters including old and infirm.

Reinforcing the sanctity of election duty, District Election Officer Aayush Garg, IAS, in an official order, has called upon all polling personnel and officials associated with various election cells to discharge their responsibilities with the highest degree of commitment and integrity. The order states that election duty transcends routine administrative functions and must be regarded as a constitutional responsibility to strengthen the democratic process.

 

Meanwhile, the DEO has asked all officers and staff engaged in election-related assignments to remain vigilant, disciplined, and fully committed throughout the poll process. Stressing the importance of individual accountability, the DEO has asked everybody to remain dutiful to make the entire election process a smooth affair. He has also said that any dereliction of duty will be viewed seriously and in accordance with the provisions laid down under the Representation of the People Act, 1951.

 

DEO Aayush Garg further stated that extensive coordination is being maintained across all levels to ensure seamless execution of responsibilities on the ground, with a special focus on maintaining transparency, adherence to protocol, and timely response to any emerging situation.
