Cabinet meeting held in Dispur; check here for key decisions

May 26: The regular Wednesday cabinet meeting of the Government of Assam was held in Dispur which was chaired by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. At the end of this meeting, as the spokesperson for the Government of Assam, Minister Pijush Hazarika conveyed the cabinet decisions to the people of the state through a press conference along with Health Minister Keshab Mahanta and MLA Jayanta Malla Baruah.

At the beginning of the meeting, today’s cabinet kept silence for 2 minutes by mourning the demise of MLA Majendra Narzari of Gosaigaon constituency of Assam. The cabinet entrusted  asked Minister Parimal Suklabaidya and Urkhao Gaura Brahma to visit the house of the late MLA today to express condolences to the bereaved families on behalf of the Assam government. Further, the cabinet decided to conduct the funeral of the late MLA with full government hoonour

Today’s cabinet has taken many important decisions in regards to administrative reforms.
▶️ From now on, there will be no necessity to send any files to the finance department seeking financial approval for Kushal Konwar’s Universal Old Age Pension Scheme, Indira Miri Universal Widow Pension scheme and Deendayal Divyang Scheme. The senior Secretary of the concerned department can automatically redeem this money to the beneficiary. Also, the beneficiaries of these three schemes will get the money in their bank account on 10th of every month.
▶️Bodoland Welfare Department and Bodoland Administrative Staff College shall be created to enhance the administrative capacity of the Bodoland Territorial Region.
▶️A Guardian Minister shall be allotted to each district administration for better implementation of schemes/ projects and other public welfare activities.
