AHSEC makes changes in HS Commerce curriculum

August 27: The AHSEC (Assam Higher Secondary Education Council) has introduced a few changes in the curriculum of the Higher Secondary Commerce Stream. These changes will come into effect from the HS First Year batch, 2020- 2021 onwards. For details, visit http://ahsec.nic.in

The following changes were introduced in the HS Commerce curriculum:

• The Subject “Banking” is renamed as “Finance “without any change of the syllabus of said subject.
• The Subject “Commercial Mathematics & Statistics” is renamed as “Business Mathematics & Statistics” without any change of the syllabus of said subject.
• Under the new system, the subjects Business Studies and Accountancy are not considered as Core Subjects but the students of Commerce Stream must have to appear the examination on both the subjects.
• The students have to secure at least  pass marks in both the subjects i.e. Business Studies and Accountancy.
• In the new system, for result purpose, the marks of the best three (3) Elective Subjects will be considered in their division along with the core subjects-English & MIL/ALTE
