Assam heading towards new tough measures; Lockdown on the cards!

May 10: On Monday, the new Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa visited Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH). He was accompanied by the Principal Health Secretary, Police Commissioner of Guwahati and Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup. A threadbare discussion was done as regards the escalating cases of Covid-19 in Assam. Dr. Biswa Sarma stated that strict measures needs to be deployed over next 15 days to contain the further spread of the deadly virus.

Taking to his twitter handle, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday night wrote, “I visited GMCH and along with Pr Secy Health, Guwahati Police Commissioner, DC Kamrup and other health officials, discussed strict measures that need to be deployed over next 15 days to contain #COVID19. Assam government would do its best. Tomorrow after the cabinet meet, I will let know the decisions taken.”
