Stop syndicate-raj before seeking votes in Barak, Sushmita tells Ranjit Das

Dec. 21: State President of Assam Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Ranjit Das is on a tour of Barak Valley. He is attending several party meetings in Cachar district. The Pradesh BJP President will also attend the party’s executive meeting in Karimganj on 23 and 24 December. Addressing the party workers in Sonai and Dholai Constituencies, Ranjit Das urged upon them to work with full enthusiasm for a historic win for BJP in 2021 elections. Reiterating the stand of his party, Mr. Das said, “We are committed to fulfill the goal of 100 plus seats in 2021 assembly polls.”

Taking a dig at BJP state chief’s assertion, former Silchar MP and President of All India Mahila Congress, Sushmita Dev said, “I urge upon you to stop the prevailing syndicate raj in the state before seeking votes in Barak Valley. Ranjit Das is dreaming of capturing the 12 assembly seats in the valley. But why is he silent on the rampant illegal syndicate operating here?”

Sushmita Dev further alleged that coal and other syndicates are operational over here and people knows very well who all are associated with it. She said, “Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal often says- Neither we will take bribes nor we will give. But when will he order an enquiry into the prevailing coal syndicate?” She further said, “It’s high time, the Chief Minister should speak out whether he will at all speak out loudly against the syndicate run in Cachar.”

“Mr. Ranjit Das, if you have the guts, then just stop the trucks in Katigorah and Kalain and ask them who is involved in this syndicate. Before seeking votes in this valley, it is your moral duty to take immediate and proper action against the ongoing syndicate,” said the former Congress MP Ms. Dev.
