ICMR chief tests COVID-19 positive, admitted at AIIMS
Dec. 19: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Chief Dr Balaram Bhargava tested positive for COVID-19. The 59-year old cardiologist who is also a recipient of Padma Shri award has been admitted to AIIMS, reports say. Sources say he is recovering well and could be discharged soon. Bhargava head the apex body for overall covid outbreak management in India. He is on a three-year deputation as the Director-General of ICMR. He also holds the post of Secretary in the Department of Health Research, a division under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, government of India. Sources revealed that he was recovering and would be discharged soon.
