22 tests +ve in Cachar on Wednesday, tally reaches 11,061
Active cases 131 in Cachar
Dec. 9: On Wednesday, a total of 22 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1765 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 20 persons were found positive, whereas 012 were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Wednesday night.
With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 11,0461. Further, a total of 10,893 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 131 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 11 persons were found positive in Cachar on Tuesday.
In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Wednesday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 343 persons were collected. 701 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 03 tested positive. Further, 542 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 02 were found positive.
Apart from this, 01 new patient of COVID-19 were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours but none were discharged. At present, there are 20 active patients at SMCH, out of which 03 are in semi-critical stage. A total of 08 patients are admitted in ICU, whereas 02 of them are put under oxygen support and none are kept in ventilator support. Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, no patients died due to COVID-19 at SMCH.
