Assam registers 13 deaths due to COVID-19 on Thursday, toll rises to 638

Sept. 26: On Saturday, 13 more deaths due to COVID-19 were registered in Assam, thereby taking the death toll of the state to 638. Confirming the same, State Health Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote in a tweet, “Very sad & anguished to inform that 13 more COVID positive patients have succumbed to the disease. My condolences to all the families. We stand by you in this hour of grief. The 13 deceased were identified as:

• Samim Khaled (43) of Karimganj
• Rajib Ahmed (48) & Gandheswar Borah (76) of Sivasagar
• Saroda Chetry (30) of Dhemaji
• Dhritiman Paul (48) of Hojai
• Baishakhi Kalindi (65), Karna Tanti (73) & Amal Jyoti Bora (52) of Golaghat
• Sorukon Saikia (75) & Biren Bora (66) of Jorhat
• Ranjit Saikia (65) of Udalguri
• Agabi Soren (55) of Sonitpur
• Rajani Borah (60) of Nagaon
