In just a few days, the earth will be adorned with devotion and joy, as we celebrate Durga Puja — the grandest festival of the Bengalis, and indeed one of the most magnificent celebrations of the world.

These are no ordinary days. They are profoundly auspicious — sacred for all beings on this earth. For during this time, the entire world bows in reverence to the Eternal Feminine Energy, to Shakti herself, in the form of Maa Durga.

And now, we can feel Her.

_”The Mother is coming, and the universe holds its breath in anticipation.”_

There is a divine essence in every sphere. The autumn sky is an endless canvas of azure blue, decorated with fleeting white clouds. The _kaash_ flowers dance joyfully in the meadows like white flags announcing Her arrival. The morning breeze carries a tender coolness, a whisper that says — She is near.

Maa is coming.

Her presence is everywhere. You can feel it in the innocent smile of a child holding a new dress, in the devoted hands of the potter who gives the final stroke to Her eyes, in the homes that are cleansed and illuminated, and in the silent prayers of millions of waiting hearts.

Everything has become beautiful, everything has become pure. For a daughter is returning to her father’s home, and creation itself is preparing to welcome her.

Maa Durga is not merely a clay idol. She is the embodiment of Power, Courage, Compassion and Protection. She reminds us that whenever darkness seeks to overpower light, the Divine Feminine will rise, armed and invincible, to restore Dharma.

As it is said:

_”Ya Devi Sarva Bhuteshu Shakti Rupena Samsthita, Namastasyai Namastasyai Namastasyai Namo Namah.”_

Let us open our hearts and welcome the Mother.

A small prayer in verse:

_The drums will beat, the conch will sound,_

_With joyous steps on hallowed ground,_

_The clouds depart, the sky is clear,_

_For news arrives — Maa will be here._

_O Mother, come with love so deep,_

_Awaken souls that lie asleep,_

_With ten strong hands, remove all fear,_

_Bless us, Maa, for You are here._
