Public hearing scheduled in Silchar over enquiry into alleged irregularity in FPD&CA Department
way2barak, August 1: —The Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs (FPD&CA) Department has invited members of the public, departmental officials, employees and beneficiaries to participate in a two-day hearing in connection with an ongoing departmental enquiry against Nilufa Ansar Laskar, Sub-Inspector, FPD&CA, Silchar who is currently under suspension.
According to an official notice issued by the Superintendent, Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs, Silchar, the enquiry relates to allegations concerning the unauthorised engagement of a Data Entry Operator during her tenure.
The hearing will be conducted by an Enquiry Officer from the Commissionerate of Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs, Assam, Guwahati, on August 3 and August 4, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. each day. The proceedings will be held at the Office of the Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Branch, Court Compound, Silchar.
The department has requested all concerned, including local residents, departmental officers and staff, as well as beneficiaries who possess relevant information, records or documents related to the matter, to attend the hearing and place their statements before the Enquiry Officer. Participants may submit either verbal or written complaints along with any supporting evidence for consideration during the enquiry.
Meanwhile, Officials of the food & public distribution department said the hearing is intended to ensure that all relevant facts and materials are examined before the enquiry is concluded. They appealed to those having first-hand knowledge or documentary evidence related to the allegations to cooperate with the enquiry process by attending the scheduled hearing.
The Superintendent, Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs, Silchar has requested all concerned to remain present on the notified dates and extend their cooperation for the smooth conduct of the enquiry.
