NIT Silchar Secures First Prize at Government Achievements and Schemes EXPO 2026

way2barak, July 27: National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) has achieved a significant distinction at the Government Achievements & Schemes Expo–2026, held from 25–27 July 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

NIT Silchar was awarded the First Prize in the category of “Excellence in Engineering for Sustainable Futures” for its participation and presentation at the prestigious national-level expo.

The expo brought together more than 200 organisations, including premier institutions such as IITs, IIMs, NITs, universities and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), providing a national platform for showcasing technological innovations, research achievements and contributions towards sustainable development.

The institute was represented by a dedicated team comprising: Dr. Biplab Das, Dr. Lalu Seban, Dr. Bipul Das, Dr. Simanchal Kar and Dr. Subhrajit Dutta.

The team worked collectively to showcase the institute’s strengths in engineering, research, innovation and sustainable technological solutions, contributing to NIT Silchar receiving the coveted first prize in its category.

The award is a significant recognition of the institute’s continuing efforts towards engineering excellence, innovation and sustainable development. It also highlights the contribution of NIT Silchar’s faculty and researchers in developing engineering solutions aligned with the emerging needs of society and the nation.
