3 districts of Barak valley to observe local holiday on March 4 for Dol Jatra celebrations

way2barak, March 2:–Three Districts Administration of Barak valley has announced a local holiday across the valley on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, in connection with the joyous observance of Dol Jatra.

The holiday has been declared under the provisions of the Negotiable Instruments Act, in accordance with the powers conferred by the Assam Government Notification dated 17 November 2025. On this day, all State Government offices, including Revenue and Magisterial Courts, educational institutions, and financial institutions, will remain closed throughout Barak valley.

However, the holiday will not affect essential and emergency services. All activities related to examinations, written tests, interviews, and allied processes will continue as scheduled to ensure that public services and administrative commitments remain uninterrupted.

Three District Administrations has extended its greetings to the people of the valley and wished everyone a peaceful and joyous Dol Jatra celebration.
