Are women safe in Silchar? Well, it raises many questions regarding the safety and security of women. Yesterday it was Pinki Roy, next it can be anyone. This brutality is rising with each passing day and the administration is waiting for orders to take action. It has to stop because if women are not safe in their own hometown then how can anyone expect that women will be safe outside their hometown? It’s high time we should start asking questions to our administration, to our leaders that what fruitful measures are they taking to stop such inhumanity in the town. But to safeguard your own self you should start keeping or doing some basic things which will help you to protect yourself. Here are the four basic things you can do:

1. Carrying pepper spray with you to protect yourself from the harasser.
2. Sharing your current location with your friend or family if there is anything you find unusual.
3. Always take a ride in any vehicle having a female passenger.
4. Lastly don’t go to highways after it is dark because crime usually happens during nighttime
