4 state-of-the-art veterinary hospitals to be set up in Assam: CM

Jan. 12: Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday informed that in order to provide best critical care to stray and pet animals, the state government is setting up four state-of-the-art veterinary hospitals. These 4 veterinary hospitals will be established in Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Tezpur and Golaghat. On Wednesday, the Chief Minister reviewed progress of the process with Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department and assured fulfillment of all requirements.

The following facilities will be made available in these four state-of-the-art veterinary hospitals.

  • Surgery OPD room with examination area.
  • Medicine OPD room with treatment area.
  • Gynaecology OPD room with treatment area.
  • Operation Theatre (Common)
  • Animal preparation and observation room (before and after surgery).
  • X-ray and Ultra-sonography room.
  • Diagnostic laboratory unit (Parasitology, Biochemistry, Haematology, Microbiology & Pathology unit)
  • Animal Intensive Care unit.
  • Livestock (Cattle, Buffalo, Goat, Sheep & Pig) in patient unit.
  • Pet animal in patient unit.
