758 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Monday, 1,014 discharged & 10 deaths registered

Aug 16: On Monday, out of 1,10,581 tests, 758 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 5,80,657. The positivity rate in the state is 0.69 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 163 positive cases during the day. Further, on Monday, 10 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 5,502. The recovery rate is 97.49 percent.

It needs mention here that on Sunday, 411 persons tested positive in Assam and 10 deaths were registered.

On Monday, 1,014 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,66,101 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam.  At present, there are 7,707 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 10 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 10 deceased, 02 each are from Darrang & Jorhat; 01 each from Cachar, Golaghat, Hojai, Kamrup Metro, Kokhrajhar & Sonitpur. The death tally of the state now stands at 5,502.
