রুবেলা টিকায় অসুস্থতার অভিযোগ, সাহাবাদে তালাবন্দি স্বাস্থ্যকর্মীর দল, ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট তদন্তের ঘোষণা

৮ সেপ্টেম্বরঃ মিসলস-রুবেলা টিকা গ্রহণের পর হাইলাকান্দি জেলার সাহাবাদ এমই মাদ্রাসায় ২৫জন ছাত্র অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়ে। এই ঘটনায় এলাকা জুড়ে উদ্বেগ, উত্তেজনা ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। ক্ষুব্ধ জনতা টিকা প্রদানকারী ডাক্তার, নার্স সহ সমস্ত স্বাস্থ্যকর্মীকে দীর্ঘসময় তালাবন্দি করে রাখেন। জেলাশাসক আদিল খান ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট পর্যায়ের তদন্তের নির্দেশ দিয়ে তাঁদের ছাড়িয়ে আনেন। অসুস্থ ছাত্রছাত্রীদের মধ্যে ২৪জনই অবশ্য এখন সুস্থ। দফায় দফায় তাদের হাসপাতাল থেকে ছেড়ে দেওয়া হয়। তবে তসলিমা বেগম বড়ভুইয়াকে উন্নত চিকিতসার জন্য শিলচর মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালে পাঠানো হয়েছে।

যে বক্স থেকে টিকা প্রদান করা হয়েছিল, প্রশাসনের পক্ষ থেকে সেটি বাজেয়াপ্ত করা হলেও তাঁদের বিশ্বাস, টিকার জেরে অসুস্থতার কোনও সম্ভাবনা নেই। এটি মানসিক সমস্যা বা ফোবিয়াও হতে পারে বলে মনে করছেন স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগের যুগ্ম সঞ্চালক অভিজিত বসু। মিডডেমিল থেকে এই অসুস্থতা কিনা তা খতিয়ে দেখতেও জেলাশাসক ফুড ইন্সপেক্টরকে নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন।

শনিবার সাহাবাদ মাদ্রাসার মোট ১২০জন ছাত্রছাত্রীকে রুবেলা টিকা প্রদান করা হয়। এর কিছুক্ষণের মধ্যে কারও জ্বর, কারও বমি হতে থাকে। অ্যাম্বুলেন্স ডেকে তাদের কাটলিছড়া প্রাথমিক স্বাস্থ্যকেন্দ্রে পাঠানো হয়। খবর পেয়ে অভিভাবকরা জড়ো হন। সঙ্গে এলাকাবাসীও। ধীরে ধীরে উত্তেজনা চরমে পৌঁছায়। তারা পুরো টিকা-টিমকে তালাবন্দি করে দেন। ঘরের চালে ঢিল পড়তে থাকে। অভিভাবকদের না জানিয়ে মাদ্রাসায় টিকা প্রদানের ব্যবস্থা করার জন্য প্রধানশিক্ষক মহরম আলি লস্করের বিরুদ্ধেও ক্ষোভ জানান তাঁরা। বিধায়ক সুজামউদ্দিন সেখানে ছুটে গিয়ে ক্ষুব্ধ জনতাকে শান্ত করেন। পরে আলোচনাক্রমে কড়া নিরাপত্তার মধ্যে স্বাস্থ্যকর্মীদের মাদ্রাসা থেকে বের করে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়।

September 9: 25 students belonging to Sahabad M.E. Madrassa under Hailakandi district became ill after Measles-Rubella vaccine was administered upon them on Saturday. Tension mounted in the area after people came to know that many children experienced nausea & stomach ache after taking the vaccine.

Local people detained the doctor, nurse and other health workers who came to the Madrassa to administer the Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccine. Later on they were released only the Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi Adil Khan assured to constitute a magisterial level inquiry to ascertain the fact. However, except one girl student, rest 24 of them was released from the hospital. Taslima Begum Barbhuiya was sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.

The box which contained the MR vaccines was seized by the administration. However, Abhijit Bose, Joint Director of Health said that vaccine has got nothing to do with the illness of the students. This is a mental problem or phobia. Deputy Commissioner has also instructed the Food Inspector to check whether their illness occurred due to taking mid-day meal.
