Leo Club of Silchar Central gives cooked food to 230 destitute on I-Day

August 15: Leo Club of Silchar Central in association with Leo Club of Silchar Vision celebrated the 74th Independence Day in a unique way. It is truly said that independence means freedom from hunger, freedom from oppression and freedom from all negatives of life. Rabindranath Tagore also envisaged that freedom when he said, “Into the heaven of freedom my Father, Let my country awake.”

True to the connotation of the term ‘freedom’, Leo Club of Silchar Central as part of their project ‘Feed the Hunger in COVID-19, 3.0 fed cooked food among 230 destitute & homeless people in various parts of Silchar town including Debpara on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day. It was a joint project started from the month of April 2020. This is the the 3rd phase of the project.

A total of 20 members of Leo Club of Silchar Central were present during the occasion. Speaking to way2barak, the Leos said, “We served nearly 230 peoples in different locations. We hope to come up with the 4th phase very soon. Jai Hind!!!
