Radhamadhab College offers tribute to the war hero Lachit Barphukan

way2barak, Nov.26: A programme was organized by the Library section of Radhamadhab College  in association with the Cultural Cell of IQAC on Saturday to commemorate the 400th Birth Anniversary of Bir Lachit Borphukan. The programme started with offering of floral tribute to the legendary war hero- Lachit.

The keynote speaker on the occasion was Sudarshan Gupta, Head, Dept of History, Radhamadhab College who spoke on the contribution of Lachit Borphukan in the history of Assam. In his speech, he highlighted the importance for celebration of such type for it helps in positioning Assam in its rightful place in Indian history.

Other dignitaries who spoke on the occasion were Dr Ashima Roy, Principal in-charge and IQAC Coordinator Arunabha Bhattacharjee. Both of them highlighted the heroism and spirit of Lachit Borphukan in their deliberations. The programme was attended by the students, teachers and staff of the college. The convenor of the Cultural Cell, Dr Ruma Nath Choudhury and Librarian of the college Dr Sonali Choudhury thanked everyone for their wholehearted support and cooperation in organizing the programme.
