Assam University Promotes Awareness on Hospitality and Tourism Education in Sribhumi
শ্রীভূমিতে আতিথেয়তা ও পর্যটন শিক্ষায় সচেতনতা আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ১১ মে : আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের হসপিটালিটি অ্যান্ড ট্যুরিজম ম্যানেজমেন্ট বিভাগ সম্প্রতি শ্রীভূমি জেলায় এক সচেতনতামূলক ও আউটরিচ কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করে। বিভাগের কর্মমুখী পাঠ্যক্রম সম্পর্কে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের মধ্যে সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি ও বিভিন্ন শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানের সঙ্গে অ্যাকাডেমিক সহযোগিতা সুদৃঢ় করাই ছিল এই উদ্যোগের মূল উদ্দেশ্য।

এই প্রচারাভিযানে নেতৃত্ব দেন বিভাগের প্রধান অধ্যাপক সঞ্জীব কুমার সাক্সেনা। তাঁর সঙ্গে ছিলেন সহকারী অধ্যাপক ড. প্রণবেশ রঞ্জন চক্রবর্তী ও গবেষক হিমলয় বরিক। প্রতিনিধি দল জেলার বিভিন্ন কলেজ পরিদর্শন করে অধ্যক্ষ ও শিক্ষকমণ্ডলীর সঙ্গে মতবিনিময় করেন এবং বর্তমান কর্মসংস্থানমুখী বাজারে আতিথেয়তা ও পর্যটন শিক্ষার গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরেন।

প্রচারাভিযানের সময় প্রতিনিধি দল দেশ-বিদেশে আতিথেয়তা ও পর্যটন শিল্পে ক্রমবর্ধমান কর্মসংস্থানের সুযোগ, শিল্পক্ষেত্রের ভবিষ্যৎ সম্ভাবনা, বিভাগের অত্যাধুনিক পরিকাঠামো, অ্যাকাডেমিক সুবিধা এবং ব্যবহারিক প্রশিক্ষণের বিষয়ে বিস্তারিত তথ্য প্রদান করে। সংশ্লিষ্ট কলেজগুলির শিক্ষক ও অধ্যক্ষরা ছাত্রছাত্রীদের এই বিষয়ে আরও সচেতন করার আশ্বাস দেন।

কর্মসূচির অংশ হিসেবে প্রতিনিধি দল করিমগঞ্জ কলেজ, রবীন্দ্রসদন কলেজ ও নবীন চন্দ্র কলেজ পরিদর্শন করে সংশ্লিষ্ট অধ্যক্ষদের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করেন। অধ্যক্ষরা বিভাগের এই উদ্যোগের প্রশংসা করে বলেন, ভবিষ্যতের কর্মসংস্থানের ক্ষেত্রে আতিথেয়তা ও পর্যটন ব্যবস্থাপনার মতো পেশাভিত্তিক শিক্ষার গুরুত্ব ক্রমশ বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। এই উদ্যোগ বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠানের মধ্যে অ্যাকাডেমিক সহযোগিতা বৃদ্ধিতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করবে বলেও তাঁরা মত প্রকাশ করেন।

Way2barak, May 11 : The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management of Assam University recently organised an awareness and outreach programme in the Sribhumi district with the objective of promoting awareness among students about its career-oriented academic programmes and strengthening academic collaboration with various educational institutions.

The outreach initiative was led by the Head of the Department, Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Saxena. He was accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Pranabesh Ranjan and research scholar Himoloy Borik. The team visited several colleges in the district and interacted with principals and faculty members, highlighting the growing importance of hospitality and tourism education in today’s employment-driven market.

During the campaign, the representatives provided detailed information regarding the expanding career opportunities in the hospitality and tourism industry both in India and abroad, future prospects of the sector, the department’s modern infrastructure, academic facilities, and practical training opportunities. The principals and faculty members of the respective colleges assured their support in creating greater awareness among students about the discipline.

As part of the programme, the delegation visited Karimganj College, Rabindrasadan College, and Nabinchandra College and held discussions with the respective principals. Appreciating the initiative, the principals observed that the significance of professional courses such as hospitality and tourism management is steadily increasing in the context of future employment opportunities. They also expressed the view that such initiatives would play an important role in enhancing academic collaboration among institutions.
