Four IPL Gambling- Bookies arrested in Silchar 

way2barak, May 11: Acting on reliable information regarding IPL-related gambling was taking place at Udayan Complex Road, Das Colony, Silchar raid was conducted by Silchar Police.

During the raid, 3 persons were apprehended, namely:

1. Suman Roy (42 Yrs), S/O Subodh Roy, R/O NH Way, Silchar.

2. Suman Roy (48 Yrs), S/O Lt. Mahesh Roy, R/O Udayan Complex, Das Colony, Silchar.

3. Nitai Roy (40 Yrs),  S/O Lt. Narayan Roy, R/O NH Way, M.P. Sarani, Silchar.

Five Nos. of Note Books containing records of IPL gambling calculations, Cash amounting to Rs. 30,190,  seven Nos. of Mobile Phones using Om777 app and one black coloured bag were recovered and seized from their possession.

Second raid was conducted at Ashram Road and apprehended one gambler namely Sanjay Das, S/o- Ranjan Das, of Sunlight Hospital, Ashram Road, P.S.- Silchar. Also, two mobile handsets and cash amounting to Rs. 15,100/- were recovered and seized from his possession.

After observing all legal formalities, the seized articles and apprehended persons were brought to Silchar PS for further necessary legal action.

These bookies were carrying on gambling since many days and it is valued around more than 50 lakhs till date.
