Sadbhavana Diwas to be observed in Cachar

August 19: Coinciding with the 76th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi, ‘Sadbhavana Diwas’ is being observed on Thursday. Along with the rest of the country, ‘Sadbhavana Diwas’ is also being observed in Cachar district. Sadbhavana Diwas is aimed at promoting national integration and communal harmony among the people of all religions, languages and regions.

However, in view of prevalence of COVID-19 pandemic, the district administration on Wednesday issued an order for strict compliance of measures like social distancing norms, wearing of face mask, use of hand sanitizer, washing of hands, thermal screening etc while observing the Sadbhavana Diwas.

The order also stated that asymptomatic officials and employees will be allowed to attend the programme while spitting will be strictly prohibited and large congregations to be avoided while observing the Diwas. Moreover, all health related protocols issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare are to be strictly adhered to, the order stated. On this occasion, pledge will also be taken in all the government offices.
