12 persons from Bangladesh arrested in Agartala with fake Aadhar cards

Jan. 5: Twelve Bangladeshi nationals who entered India illegally were arrested from Agartala airport in Tripura on Monday. They were about to fly to Chennai on an IndiGo flight when IndiGo staff members detected their fake Aadhar cards when they had gone to collect boarding passes. The security personnel of Agartala airport apprehended the Bangladeshi nationals and handed them over to Agartala police.

During interrogation, the Bangladeshi nationals confessed that they had illegally entered India via the Tripura border. They further confessed that they have acquired the fake Aadhaar cards from some people in Sonamura subdivision. A search operation was launched by the state police to bust the racket, which provided the fake Aadhar cards to the arrested Bangladeshi nationals.
