23 new corona cases detected; tally rises to 2,925 in Hailakandi district

The number of active cases is 215

22 Sept : 23 fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported from South Assam’s Hailakandi district on Tuesday, taking the total tally to 2,925. Health authorities here disclosed that of the 23 positive cases, 12 have been detected under the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). Altogether 762 swab samples were taken on Tuesday.

Altogether 1,647 cases have been found positive under RAT with over 50 per cent without travel history. 2,691 persons on being cured have been released from hospitals.The number of active cases is 215. Eight COVID-19 positive patients have breathed their last at Silchar Medical College and Hospital. 11 deaths at SMC&H have been declared as ‘non-COVID’ by the State level Death Audit Board. 86 COVID-19 asymptomatic persons are under home isolation.

Of the 24,658 swab samples taken, 22,159 have tested negative. Swab results of 341 persons are awaited. Altogether 65,273 swab samples were taken under RT-PCR and RAT. 40-45 mobile medical teams have fanned out to different parts of the district.
