Russia drops powerful bomb in a theatre in Ukraine in which around 1200 people sought refuge

March 17: Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba has posted pictures showing the Mariupol theatre before and after Russia dropped a powerful bomb. In a tweet, he wrote, “Another horrendous war crime in Mariupol. Massive Russian attack on the Drama Theater where hundreds of innocent civilians were hiding. The building is now fully ruined.” The Ukrainian Minister further wrote, “Russians could not have not known this was a civilian shelter. Save Mariupol! Stop Russian war criminals!”

Meanwhile, it was learnt that around 1000 to 1200 people had sought refuge in the building. This was also confirmed by Deputy Mayor Sergei Orlov. However, the exact casualty which resulted due to bombarding by the Russians could not be ascertained as yet.
