Akhil Gogoi wheels handcart into Assembly

way2barak, July 9 : Carrying eggs, fish and broiler chicken on a handcart, Raijor Dal MLA Akhil Gogoi on Thursday staged a dramatic protest outside the Assam Legislative Assembly, alleging that an illegal syndicate network was driving up the prices of essential commodities across the state.

The Sivasagar legislator accused Finance Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah of allowing a “syndicate raj” that allegedly collects illegal “goonda tax” from trucks transporting goods into Assam through interstate entry points.
