‘Aashiqui’ fame Rahul Roy suffers brain stroke while shooting in Kargil

Nov. 30: Rahul Roy, the star of 1990 superhit Aashiqui, suffered a brain stroke while shooting for his upcoming film ‘LAC- Live the Battle’ in Kargil. The 52-year-old actor, Rahul Roy was immediately airlifted from Kargil and brought to Nanavati Hospital, Mumbai where he is now being treated for his condition.

With military’s help he was airlifted in a helicopter to Srinagar on Thursday from where he was rushed to Nanavati Hospital’s ICU in Mumbai.

The Aashiqui actor plays a colonel in the Nitin Kumar Gupta film, which stars Nishant in the lead role. They were in Kargil for a 17-day shoot. They had two more days to go when Rahul’s health condition deteriorated. One of his co-actor said, “He was alright when we all went to sleep on Monday night. I think the weather got to him, it’s extreme conditions out here in Kargil where we are shooting. The temperature is -15 degree centigrade.”
