Nari Sikshasram celebrates capping, lamp lighting & oath taking ceremony

Jan. 12: The nursing students of the 9th batch of Siva Sundari Nari Sikshasram School of Nursing, Silchar celebrated their capping, lamp lighting and oath taking ceremony on Tuesday. During the occasion, all the first year nursing students received their nursing camp and took oath of their noble profession. The lamp-lighting ceremony was also held.

No description available.The capping ceremony was often the highlight of a student’s experience, a “memorable and happy occasion for the students as they donned the cap and pledged to wear it with pride and dignity and in such a manner that it would always bring honor and distinction to their alma mater.” Lamp-lighting is a tradition followed by all Nursing graduates to remind them on the noble traditions of their profession. This tradition commemorates the heroine of nursing, Florence Nightingale, who was seen in the dark alleys with a lamp while caring for the injured soldiers of the Crimean War.

In his speech, President of Siva Sundari Nari Sikshasram, Er. Angshu Kumar Roy congratulated the students and urged them to follow the footsteps of Florence Nightingale who dedicated her services towards humanity. All the members of the executive committee, teachers, students and guardians were present during the occasion.

Earlier, during the day, Siva Sundari Nari Sikshasram & Anti-Natal Clinic celebrated their 91st Foundation Day. It was marked by hoisting the flag of Nari Sikshasram by its President Er. Angshu Kumar Roy in the presence of the executive committee members. This was followed by the rendering of the Ashram song by the staff of Siva Sundari Nari Sikshasram.
