2394 tests +ve in Assam on Wednesday; 19 deaths registered

Sept. 16: On Wednesday, 2394 persons tested COVID-19 positive. With this, a total of 1,48,968 persons were detected positive in the state as of now. At present, there are 31,555 active cases in Assam. During the last 24 hours, 32,478 tests were done. In a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 2394 #COVID cases detected today out of 32478 tests done in last 24 hours Positivity Rate- 7.37% Kamrup M- 556; Dibrugarh- 184; Jorhat- 161; Golaghat- 158.”

Further, 19 more persons died due to COVID-19 in the state, thereby taking the death toll of the state to 511.
