Surprise raids conducted to check malpractices by fake doctors

October 23: When on one hand, the health sector is greatly affected by lack of requisite doctors and modern testing equipment, on the other a few fake doctors have set up chambers and be-fooling the public. Such instances of quacks doing treatment without any medical credentials are often reported from various parts of the valley, but hardly any strict action are taken against them.

On Wednesday, the Hailakandi district administration straightened themselves and set out to nab such fake doctors. Mongve Enghi ACS and Shoma Roy ALRS conducted surprise raids to check the malpractices of such fake doctors. These are cases where self proclaimed doctors are practicing medicine with fake certificates and no medical credentials. Strict Notices have been served against them.

Sources in the district administration revealed that this is just the beginning. Many such raids will be conducted off and on. The public were also urged upon to report any such instance to the district administration.
