Strict prohibitory measures imposed around NEET (UG) re-examination centres in Cachar;
way2barak, June 18: In a bid to ensure the smooth, fair and transparent conduct of the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination scheduled to be held on June 21, the District Administration, Cachar has imposed prohibitory restrictions around all examination centres under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.
The NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), will be held at seven examination centres across the district. Considering the possibility of certain unscrupulous elements attempting to resort to unfair means or activities that could disrupt the examination process, the District Administration has taken precautionary measures to maintain a peaceful and conducive environment around the centres.
According to an order issued by District Magistrate, Cachar, Aayush Garg, IAS, no person other than the candidates appearing for the examination and officials engaged in conducting and monitoring the examination will be allowed to enter or remain within a radius of 100 metres from any examination centre on the day of the examination.
The order further stipulates that carrying any item prohibited under the examination guidelines including electronic gadgets, mobile phones and any material that could facilitate unfair practices, is strictly forbidden inside examination halls and rooms.
The District Administration has cautioned that any violation of the prohibitory order will invite legal action as per the relevant provisions of law. The restrictions have come into force with immediate effect and will remain operational throughout the examination period on June 21.
The District Administration has appealed to the public to extend their cooperation in maintaining order and ensuring the successful conduct of the examination.
