Leo Club of Karimganj Youth celebrates Women’s Equality Day

August 28: Leo Club of Karimganj Youth celebrated Women’s Equality Day on Wednesday. During the day, the members of the Club felicitated three women of Karimganj. They also spent a considerable amount of time with them to know about their struggle and journey of life.

Speaking to way2barak, Leo Mayurakshi Bhowmik, PRO of Leo Club of Karimganj Youth said, “Women are a part and parcel of human society, yet they are often underestimated and deprived of the position they ought to have adorned. As such, we decided to honour some of them who by dint of hard work and struggle have carved a niche for themselves. On Wednesday, we honoured 3 such women of our locality.”

Leo Bithika Choudhury, Secretary of the Club said, “It was indeed a surprising moment for the entire team of Leo Club of Karimganj Youth when we got to know how these ladies were equally contributing financially for the cause of their family along with their male counterpart.We were astounded to see how bravely they overcome all the obstacles from society with a huge smile in their face. It’s the duty of our society to be receptive and to help those women to achieve their goals.”
