BSF seizes 22 buffaloes near Katigorah during illegal transportation, 2 nabbed

Aug. 11: The Border Security Force (BSF), in its drive against cattle smuggling, on 11 August, 2021, while acting on specific information regarding illegal movement of cattle on NH-06 from Katigorah area towards Meghalaya for smuggling purpose, carried out a special operation with troops of 1 Battalion BSF, Mizoram and Cachar Frontier. During this Operation, at about 0615 hrs, the BSF Operation party seized one heavy truck (having Registration No.NL-01-AE-0348) at Hilara railway crossing which was carrying 22 buffaloes illegally and 02 Indian nationals along with one Maruti 800 Car was also apprehended, who were connected with this illegal transportation.

Seized buffaloes along with the truck, car and apprehended persons were handed over to PS-Katigorah for legal actions with a requisition to lodge an FIR. The BSF troops of Mizoram and Cachar Frontier has seized a total of 150 cattle since January 2021, while being attempted for smuggling purpose.
