Himanta-led BJP govt completes 1 month in office; CM presents 30 days’ work report

June 10: Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma was sworn in as the 15th Chief Minister of Assam on 10 May, 2021. Since the taking over of the reigns of the state from Sarbananda Sonowal, one month has elapsed. Taking to his twitter handle on 10 June, Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his gratitude to the people of Assam. He wrote, “ধন্যবাদ Folded hands I humbly bow in reverence to people of #Assam for their unwavering support. The 30 days of Assam Government has been gratifying. We have vigorously pursued vision of Hon PM Sri @narendramodi and we have miles to go. Solicit your blessings.”

In another tweet, Dr Biswa Sarma wrote, “Following Hon PM Sri @narendramodi‘s vision we have been marching towards making of an Atmanirbhar, resilient Assam.” He further stated that “This is beginning of a new chapter in Assam’s onwards march. We’ve miles to go!” In order to prove his dynamism, Himanta also tweeted his 30 Days’ Work Report:

He also mentioned some actions taken by his government in last one month:

  • Initiated relentless mission against drugs and cow smuggling
  • Covid-19 brought under control
  • Daily wage of tea garden workers increased by ₹38
  • Initiated process of recruiting 1lakh youth in govt sector
  • Started process to waive off microfinance loans
  • Launched CM Sishu Seva Scheme

On completion of a month of Assam Government today, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma handed over cheques of financial assistance to beneficiaries who lost both parents due to Covid, under Chief Minister Shishu Seva scheme, announced on May 29.
