NEP 2020 to be implemented commensurate with the resources & infrastructure available in the colleges of Assam: President ACTA

way2barak, Nov.10: A high level meeting of the Committee formed for monitoring and guiding implementation of NEP 2020 was held at Janata Bhawan, Guwahati on 9 November, which was chaired by Dr Nani Gopal Mahanta, Adviser, Education to the Government of Assam.

The meeting convened by Tarali Das, ACS Deputy Secretary to the Govt. of Assam Higher Education Department was attended by J.P. Verma, VC, Sports University, Dibrugarh, Prof. Bhabesh Ch. Goswami, Retd. VC, Cotton University, Prof. Parag Phukan, Head of Department, Geology, Gauhati University, Dr. Eeshan Kalita, Assistant Professor, Gauhati University, Principal, Arya Vidyapeeth College, President, Assam College Principal Council (ACPC) and Himangshu Maral, President, Assam College Teachers Association (ACTA).

Later on expressing his views, Prof. Himangshu Maral, President ACTA said, “Attended a meeting of a committee formed for monitoring and guiding implementation of NEP 2020 chaired by the Hon’ble Education Adviser yesterday. We highlighted the issues faced by the colleges, and assured that ACTA is ready to do the needful commensurate with the resources and infrastructure available in the colleges of Assam. Mr. Narayan Konwar, Secretary, Higher Education, DHE Assam Dharmakanta Mili, Dr. Ranjan Kalita among others attended the meeting.”
