Rotary Club of Silchar declares to start Rotaract Club at Radhamadhab College, distributes cake among students

September 23: Rotary Club of Silchar distributed cake among the students of Radhamadhab College, Silchar on Monday as part of their project Food. Recently they have got a huge food consignment and so they were distributing these among the school and college students.

Speaking during the occasion, Rotarian Benu Lal Barman said, “We have now got global chance as a part of its food bank network. We often get food items through this network and distribute them among the students or children. Moreover, this is our silver jubilee year and so to commemorate the occasion, we are also distributing these cakes among you all.”

Addressing the students, Rotarian Taimur Raja Choudhury said, “We have already done preliminary discussion with your Principal. We are going to start a Rotaract Club here at Radhamadhab College. The students of this college will be members of this club. Along with your studies, you will involve yourselves in various social service activities.”

The students were then explained by the Rotarians about the aims and objectives of Rotary Club. They were also informed about the activities of Rotaract Club which will soon be started at Radhamadhab College. Present during the occasion were Dr. Kankana Nath, Head, Department of English of Radhamadhab College, Assistant Professors Arundhuti Dutta Choudhury, Arunabha Bhattacharjee and Sudarshan Gupta. Dr. Kankana Nath thanked the Rotarians for undertaking such type of philanthropic activities.
