With 24 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 62 on 6 July
Active cases 415 in Cachar; 79 discharged on Tuesday
July 6: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Tuesday at 11.10 PM. As per the latest data, 24 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 62 persons were found positive in the district on 6 July. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 38 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 415. This was informed by District Media Expert on Tuesday night. Also, 79 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Monday, 56 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.
As per the updated data, a total of 3,775 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 38 persons were found positive, whereas 24 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 17,938, whereas during this phase, 17,351 patients were discharged.
Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 415 active patients:

35 at SM Dev Civil Hospital
11 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
12 at CRPF Doyapur
00 at Gracewell Nursing Home
08 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
00 at Valley Hospital
00 at South City Hospital
04 at Chibitabichia Model Hospital
05 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
27 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
08 Palonghat Model Hospital
175 patients are in home isolation.
The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 5 July to 5 PM on 6 July) also did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening.
However, National health Mission (NHM), Assam in its Covid Report of 6 July, 2021 informed that two persons died in Karimganj district due to Covid-19. However, the details about the deceased were not made available till the filing of this report.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 6 July, there were 110 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 50 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 60 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 15 patients were put under ventilator support and 78 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 13 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 18 of them were discharged.
