Pilot suffers mid-air heart attack, Bangladesh bound Intn’l flight makes emergency landing in Nagpur

Aug. 27:  In a shocking development, a major tragedy was averted as an International flight of Biman Bangladesh from Moscow to Dhaka made an emergency landing at the Nagpur airport in India after its Pilot suffered a massive heart attack mid-air inside the cockpit. The Boeing aircraft with 126 passengers on board was then near Raipur in Chattisgarh, when it established contact with Kolkata ATC for an emergency landing.

Immediately, the Kolkata ATC coordinated and instructed to land the flight at the nearest Nagpur airport. The flight then landed in Nagpur, following which the Pilot was rushed to hospital. All the passengers on board the flight were safe. As per the data on flight tracking app, FlightRadar24, the plane used by the airline was Boeing 737-8.
