Protest mounts against Shah Rukh Khan & Deepika starrer ‘Pathaan’ for exhibiting “vulgarity”

way2barak, Dec.17: “It’s soaked in obscenity. This is a matter of vulgarity,” remarked Mukesh Khanna, who is famous for his role in and as ‘Shaktiman’ while taking a dig at the music video ‘ Besharam Rang’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.

Siddharth Anand ’s upcoming film ‘Pathaan’ has also been receiving a lot of flak from the netizens ever since the release of the music video for its song, ‘Besharam Rang’. The song starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone has been released, and it has landed into several controversies. While a section of the audience has loved its sensual appeal, there’s also a large segment who’s opposed to the song and criticised it.

Madhya Pradesh home minister and BJP leader Narottam Mishra, invariably found taking the lead in espousing the ‘Hindu cause’ and issuing warnings over it, has sent out an ultimatum again. Mishra has demanded that the film’s producers either delete ‘objectionable’ sequences from the song Besharam Rang or face the law in MP.

Caralisa Monteiro, one of the singers of ‘Besharam Rang’ song from ‘Pathaan’, has reacted to the controversy surrounding Deepika Padukone’s saffron outfit. “Our country has far more pressing issues that need attention than the colour of costumes used in a fictional movie,”

Members of Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad staged a protest in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district on Friday against the shooting of SRK’s other movie ‘Return Ticket’. A protester claimed saffron colour was insulted in ‘Pathaan’.

The song, sung by Shilpa Rao, has garnered over 30 million views on YouTube within days of its release. Pathaan, which also stars John Abraham, is slated for a January 2023 release. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone have definitely been a power couple, with numerous projects to back this up and their chemistry has always been off the charts.
