ওয়ে টু বরাক, ২৭ সেপ্টেম্বর : স্বচ্ছতা মিত্র সুরক্ষা শিবির আয়োজিত হল আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে। গতকাল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের এনএসএস সেলের কার্যালয়ে এই শিবিরের আয়োজন করা হয়। ‘স্বচ্ছতা হি সেবা’ অভিযানের অঙ্গ হিসেবে আয়োজিত এই শিবিরের লক্ষ্য ছিল ছাত্রছাত্রী, শিক্ষক-কর্মচারী ও বৃহত্তর সম্প্রদায়ের মধ্যে পরিচ্ছন্নতা, স্বাস্থ্য সচেতনতা ও সামাজিক দায়িত্ববোধ প্রচার করা। শিবিরে বিশেষ করে যারা ক্যাম্পাস স্বাস্থ্যকর ও পরিষ্কার রাখার ক্ষেত্রে উল্লেখযোগ্য ভূমিকা পালন করেন, সেই স্বচ্ছতা কর্মীদের (হাউস কিপিং) সেবার স্বীকৃতিও প্রদান করা হয়।

স্বাগত বক্তব্যে এনএসএস সেলের প্রোগ্রাম কো-অর্ডিনেটর অধ্যাপক এম. গঙ্গাভূষণ শ্রমের মর্যাদা ও স্বীকৃতির ওপর গুরুত্ব দেন। তিনি বলেন, কোনও কাজই ছোট নয় ও প্রতিটি ভূমিকাই সমাজের বিকাশে অবদান রাখে। তিনি স্বচ্ছ ভারত অভিযানের বিবর্তনের এক সংক্ষিপ্ত বিবরণও তুলে ধরেন।

শিবিরে স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগের অধীন আসাম রাজ্য এইডস নিয়ন্ত্রণ সমিতির দিশা ক্লাস্টারের প্রোগ্রাম ম্যানেজার অনুপ কুমার দত্ত ও যুগ্ম স্বাস্থ্য সঞ্চালকের কার্যালয়ের প্রতিনিধি ইকবাল বাহার বড়ভূঁইয়া বক্তব্য রাখেন। তাঁরা ব্যক্তিগত স্বাস্থ্যবিধি, প্রতিরোধমূলক স্বাস্থ্যসেবা ও নিয়মিত চিকিৎসা পরীক্ষার গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরেন। সেইসঙ্গে স্বচ্ছতা কর্মীদের জন্য উপলব্ধ সরকারি কল্যাণমূলক প্রকল্পগুলি নিয়েও আলোচনা করেন।

এদিন স্বচ্ছতা কর্মী, স্বেচ্ছাসেবক ও রিসোর্স পার্সনদের মধ্যে এক মতবিনিময় কর্মসূচিও আয়োজিত হয়। এনএসএস সেলের প্রোগ্রাম অফিসার ড. শুভদীপ রায়চৌধুরী এই মতবিনিময় কার্যক্রমের সমন্বয় করেন। এই অভিযানের অংশ হিসেবে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ক্যাম্পাস সহ আইরংমারা ও শিলকুড়ি গ্রামের ৪-৫টি ‘ক্লিনিংলিনেস টার্গেট ইউনিট’ (সিটিইউ) চিহ্নিত করা হয়। স্বেচ্ছাসেবকরা স্বচ্ছতা কর্মীদের সঙ্গে ইতিমধ্যেই একটি ইউনিট সফলভাবে পরিষ্কার করেছেন। বাকি গুলিতেও আগামী ২ অক্টোবরের আগে সম্পন্ন করা হবে। এছাড়াও শিলকুড়ির দুটি নির্দিষ্ট স্থানে এনএসএসের পক্ষ থেকে সচেতনতামূলক কর্মসূচি ও সমাজসেবামূলক কার্যক্রম আয়োজনের সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে।

Way2barak, September 27 : Assam University organised a Swachhata Mitra Suraksha Shivir at the NSS Cell premises. The event marked a landmark event of the university’s Swachhata Hi Seva campaign for 2025, which aims at promoting cleanliness, health awareness, and social responsibility among students, staff, and the larger community. The program was specially dedicated to recognizing the tireless services of frontline workers— Swachhata Karmis (housekeeping staff)—who play an indispensable role in keeping the campus clean and hygienic. Their contribution forms the backbone of Swachhata Abhiyan, and this program served as a platform to honour them as the real heroes of cleanliness.

The program began with welcome address by Prof. M. Gangabhushan, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell. Prof. Gangabhushan emphasized the importance of the dignity of labour. He highlighted that no work is small and that every role contributes to the growth of society. He gave a brief but comprehensive overview of the evolution of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, tracing its roots from earlier cleanliness drives to its nationwide popularization under the leadership of the Government of India.

The program featured addresses by Anup Kumar Dutta, Cluster Programme Manager, DISHA Cluster ASACS (Assam State AIDS Control Society) represented the Office of the Directorate, Health Services, Cachar and Iqbal Bahar Barbhuiya, from the office of the Joint Director, Health Services. They highlighted the importance of personal hygiene, preventive healthcare, and regular medical check-ups. They also discussed government welfare schemes available for the Swachhata Karmis. Following this, an interaction session was held between the Swachhata Karmis, volunteers, and the resource persons. The interactive session was coordinated by Dr. Shubhadeep Roychoudhury, Programme Officer, NSS Unit of Assam University. The discussion created a space for sharing experiences, challenges, and possible solutions to strengthen cleanliness efforts both on and off campus.

As part of the campaign, NSS identified 3–5 Cleanliness Target Units (CTU) within the Assam University campus as well as from Irongmara and Silcoorie villages. The volunteers, alongside Swachhata Karmis, have already successfully cleaned one CTU. The remaining CTUs will be taken up gradually before 2nd October, ensuring widespread participation and visible impact. In addition, two specific places in Silcoorie have been selected where NSS volunteers will conduct awareness programs and social service activities.
