UDF snubs Cong’s call for alliance, names Rejaul for Nagaon bypoll

way2barak, Aug 14: All-India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) president Badruddin Ajmal has rejected the Congress party’s offer of jointly fighting the Nagaon Lok Sabha seat.

Byelection to the seat will be held as sitting Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi has resigned from the party. He contested the assembly election in April this year from Dispur on a BJP ticket and won the seat.

Ajmal said, “We are not going with Congress. Congress has sunk India and Assam. Congress is the B team of BJP. Rejaul Karim Sarkar will be the AIUDF candidate.”
