Training of Micro Observers conducted in Cachar
March 21: Training of Micro Observers was organized on Saturday in Silchar to ensure smooth conduct of the forthcoming Assembly elections. The training took place at 11 am at the DRDA conference hall. Training was imparted on EVM/ VVIPAT, electoral process and absentee voters. Around 150 central government officials were trained.
Persons who are above 80 years of age, specially abled or corona affected, whose applications for casting votes via postal ballots have been approved can cast their votes through postal ballots. The election employees will visit door to door from 22 March to 27 March, 2021 from 8 AM to 5 PM on behalf of District Administration Cachar for polling purpose. The Micro Observers trained for the process of absentee voters will also be present during the door-to-door collection of postal ballots.
Present during the training session were the General Observers, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar Keerthi Jalli, Election Officer Nabanita Hazarika, Nodal Officer Maria Tanim- Asstt. Commissioner, Cachar, Coordinator of the Training Cell- SB Dutta Choudhury, Development Officer of LICI, Master Trainers Sudarshan Gupta, Assistant Professor of Radhamadhab College and Dr. Sudip Choudhury, Assistant Professor of Assam University.
