Illicit alcohol worth ₹5,54,31,160 & drugs worth ₹594.60 lakh seized in Assam in last few months

March 21: A whopping 6,89,683 Litres of illegal & illicit liquor worth Rs. 5,54,31,160 has been seized/ destroyed in various parts of Assam in the last couple of months. Out of the total 6,89,683 Litres, 77,344 litres of IMFL, 6,154 litres of country made liquor and 6,06185 litres of illicit liquor was seized by the Assam Police. The seizure of  6,89,683 Litres of illegal & illicit liquor was done during 1 December 2020 till 12 March, 2021.

Further, over just a couple of months, huge caches of drugs worth Rs. 594.60 Lakh have been recovered. This include 2.05 kg of heroine, 967.49 kg of Ganja, 1,120 bottles of cough syrup, 1,14,615 illicit tablets, 149 capsules and 99.85 gm of brown sugar. The seizure was done during 26 February to 12 March, 2021.
