Training of Child Welfare Committee Members Conducted by DISHA Cachar

way2barak, July 20 : DISHA Cachar, ASACS in collaboration with DLSA, Cachar successfully organized a training session for the members of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) in Cachar District, adhering to the provisions of Chapter VII and Chapter XI of the HIV/AIDS Act, 2017. The event took place at the Conference Hall, District Legal Services Authority, Silchar.

The training session witnessed active participation from the members of the CWC, officials from the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), and other relevant personnels. The training was conducted in the presence of the Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Cachar Salma Sultana and District AIDS Control Officer, Cachar Dr. Ratna Chakraborty.

The primary objective of the session was to provide a comprehensive understanding of the directives stipulated in the HIV/AIDS Act, 2017. This training ensures that the CWC members are well-equipped to address any incidents reported under the provisions of the Act efficiently and effectively.

The session emphasized the importance of protecting the rights and welfare of HIV-infected orphans and ensuring proper guardianship for siblings under 18 years of age. The training is a significant step towards enhancing the capabilities of the CWC members in handling sensitive cases and promoting the well-being of affected individuals in the district.
