Truck on way to Madhura quarry meets with accident, 8 injured

July 6: In a street accident at Udharbond on Wednesday afternoon, atleast eight persons suffered grave injuries. As per reports, a truck went to collect stone from Madhura quarrt in Udharbond constituency in Cachar district. The vehicle was running at a very high speed.  It was then the truck driver lost his control and met with an accident at Chandighat.

Around eight persons suffered grave injuries in the accident. On getting information, police forces from Udharbond Police Station reached the spot. Police with cooperation of the local people took the injured to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH).

Local people alleged that off and on trucks ply on this road at a high speed and cause accidents. They further stated that these trucks are involved in illegal transportation of stones from the Madhura quarry.
