SMB launches Paytm services for  payment of municipality taxes

way2barak, January 8: Silchar municipality board has launched first of its paytm service in the state for hassle free payment of municipality taxes through digital platform using QR code at an event organized by the silchar municipality board at the conference hall of Silchar Municipality here on monday.

Silchar MP, Dr. Rajdeep Roy, MLA Dipayan Chakraborty, Udharband MLA Mihir Kanti Shome, Chief Executive Officer of Silchar Municipality Rajiv Roy, Executive Manager of Pay-TM Rohan Roy, Chairman of Silchar Development Authority Manjul Dev, Director of APDCL Nityabhushan Dey formally launched the paytm service on the occasion.
It’s noteworthy to mention that through this online digital platform services the tax payers can now pay their taxes at home through using Pay-TM.
On this occasion a demonstration was presented to submit municipality tax through barcode/QR code.

Launching the Pay-TM service, MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy said that India is one of the countries in the world where common people have started transacting money through digital platforms these days which was the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India has the highest amount of money transacted in this digital mode in the world.

Dr Roy also mentioned that Silchar municipality has taken a step forward by introducing this practice first in the entire state.
While talking at the event, MLA, Silchar Dipayan Chakraborty said that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about transactions through cashless technology, various opposition leaders opposed his initiaves but the Prime Minister took steps to make cashless transactions for common traders and a result cashless transactions have started all over India. He said that he felt proud for this, and also requested that an operation would be started to free the illegal encroachers from various areas of Silchar city, in which he requested the cooperation and assistance of people from all walks of life. MLA Mihir Kanti Shome, Nityabhushan Dey, Rohan Roy among others gave relevant speeches. Earlier, Executive officer SMB Rajiv Roy, Chief Executive Officer of Silchar Municipality, explained the objective and the purpose of the occasion.
