Literary Fervour Marks Poetry Day Celebration at Assam University
সাহিত্যচর্চার দীপ্তি ছড়িয়ে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে কবিতা দিবস পালিত

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ২০ মার্চ : শুক্রবার আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে যথাযোগ্য মর্যাদা ও উৎসাহের মধ্য দিয়ে পালিত হল কবিতা দিবস। সাহিত্যপ্রেমী শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থী ও কবিতানুরাগীদের স্বতঃস্ফূর্ত অংশগ্রহণে দিনটি এক সৃজনশীল ও আবেগঘন পরিবেশের সৃষ্টি করে। এই অনুষ্ঠান আয়োজনে সহযোগিতার হাত বাড়িয়ে দেয় আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় স্টুডেন্টস ইউনিয়ন।

অনুষ্ঠানের সূচনায় কবিতার তাৎপর্য ও বর্তমান সময়ে কবিতার প্রাসঙ্গিকতার ওপর আলোকপাত করা হয়। এরপর শুরু হয় কবিতা পাঠের আসর। এতে অংশগ্রহণ করেন বিশিষ্ট কবি ও অধ্যাপক সুমন গুণ, অধ্যাপক মহুয়া সেনগুপ্ত, অধ্যাপক পীয়ুষ পাণ্ডে, অধ্যাপক বরুণজ্যোতি চৌধুরী, কবি শতদল আচার্য, আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় স্টুডেন্টস ইউনিয়নের সভাপতি রাজকিঙ্কর চক্রবর্তী, অঙ্কিতা দেব সহ আরও অনেকে।

প্রত্যেক কবির কণ্ঠে উচ্চারিত কবিতার ছন্দ, ভাবনা ও বার্তা উপস্থিত শ্রোতাদের মুগ্ধ করে। মানবিকতা, সমাজবাস্তবতা, প্রেম, প্রতিবাদ ও সমকালীন জীবনের নানা দিক উঠে আসে কবিতার পঙ্‌ক্তিমালায়। বিশেষত তরুণ প্রজন্মের অংশগ্রহণ অনুষ্ঠানটিকে আরও প্রাণবন্ত করে তোলে।

অনুষ্ঠানের শেষে বক্তারা বলেন, কবিতা কেবল সাহিত্যচর্চার একটি মাধ্যম নয়, এটি সমাজের ভাবনা, চেতনা ও অনুভূতির প্রতিফলন। এমন উদ্যোগ শিক্ষাঙ্গনে সাহিত্যচর্চাকে আরও সমৃদ্ধ করবে ও নতুন প্রজন্মকে সৃজনশীলতায় উদ্বুদ্ধ করবে।

কবিতার মাধ্যমে সমাজ ও সময়কে নতুন করে ভাবার যে আহ্বান উঠে আসে, তা সকলের মনে গভীর ছাপ ফেলে। উপস্থিত বিশিষ্টজনেরা আশা প্রকাশ করেন, ভবিষ্যতেও এ ধরনের সাহিত্যভিত্তিক উদ্যোগ আরও বৃহত্তর পরিসরে আয়োজন করা হবে এবং বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সাংস্কৃতিক চর্চাকে নতুন উচ্চতায় নিয়ে যাবে।

Way2barak, March 20 : Poetry Day was celebrated with due enthusiasm and dignity at Assam University on Friday. The event witnessed spontaneous participation from literature-loving teachers, students, and poetry enthusiasts, creating a vibrant and emotionally rich atmosphere. The programme was supported by the Assam University Students’ Union.

The event began with discussions highlighting the significance of poetry and its relevance in contemporary times. This was followed by a poetry recitation session featuring eminent poets and academicians, including Suman Gun, Mahua Sengupta, Piyush Pandey, Barun Jyoti Choudhury, Satadal Acharjee Rajkinkar Chakraborty, and Ankita Deb, among others.

The rhythm, thoughts, and messages conveyed through the poems captivated the audience. Themes such as humanity, social realities, love, protest, and various aspects of contemporary life were vividly reflected in the recitations. Notably, the active participation of the younger generation added energy and vibrancy to the programme.

In their concluding remarks, speakers emphasized that poetry is not merely a form of literary expression but a reflection of society’s thoughts, consciousness, and emotions. Such initiatives, they noted, would enrich literary culture within academic spaces and inspire creativity among the younger generation.

The event left a lasting impression on attendees, encouraging a renewed perspective on society and time through poetry. Distinguished participants expressed hope that similar literary initiatives would be organized on a larger scale in the future, further elevating the cultural environment of the university.
