Bike rallies banned 72 hours before poll date in Hailakandi

March 23: In pursuance of order issued by the Election Commission of India, District Magistrate, Megh Nidhi Dahal promulgated Section 144 CrPC banning bike rallies 72 hours before date of poll or on the poll day in all poll going constituencies.

Issuing an order to this effect here on Tuesday, District Magistrate, Dahal warned that any person, candidates or political parties violating the order would be liable for prosecution as per the provisions of Section 188 of the IPC and other provisions as applicable. The order comes into force with immediate effect.
