Assam registers 696 +ve cases on Wednesday, state tally reaches 14,032

July 8: Wednesday recorded a somewhat less spike in the number of COVID-19 positive cases in Assam in the last few days. 696 fresh positive cases were registered in the state on Wednesday, out of which 423 were from Guwahati city alone. With this, a total of 14,032 persons were infected with novel coronavirus in the state, out of which, 5281 are active cases. Assam also recorded 6 deaths related to coronavirus on Wednesday. Sharing this information, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet wrote, “People are expected to follow precautions strictly.”
