MOU signed between NETC & Cachar administration for construction of maternity wards for Covid patients

May 19: The North East Transmission Company limited (NETC) has signed a Memorandum of Undertaking (MOU) with Cachar District Administration on Wednesday. The MOU deals with providing financial assistance of Rs. 19.97 lakhs for construction of 2 Maternity wards (for COVID positive mothers), one at Sonai BPHC & the other at Jirighat MPHC in Cachar district. The amount will be spent under CSR scheme for the financial year 2021-22.

It is relevant to mention that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is authorised to support initiatives for improving and promoting infrastructure for benefit of people by upgrading health services. The MOU was signed at the conference hall of the office of the Deputy Commissioner Cachar, in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli, J.R Lalsim- DDC Cachar, Dr BJ Sikdar, Joint Director of Health, Project Engineer Bikash Nayak NETC and Senior Planning Officer, Transformation & Department Branch- Ruli Doulagaphu.

Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli expressed her happiness on the occasion at the financial assistance provided by NETC and hoped this would continue as a part of its commitment to social participation in the larger interest of suffering people of the most backward and economically weak region. She conveyed her gratitude and gratefulness to NETC for the financial aid.
