Flight rescheduled at 5.50 AM on Sunday

October 26: Air India Flight No.A 753 bound for Silchar from Kolkata failed to land due to bad weather condition. Citing poor visibility, the flight went back to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Airport, Kolkata. The scheduled departure of the flight from Kolkata Airport was at 5.50 AM on Saturday. The flight officials asked the passengers to get down at Kolkata Airport. However, the passengers refused to get down and rather insisted that the Manager should come and assure in writing that the flight will go later.

Finally, the Deputy Manager of Air India at NSCBI Airport gave a written assurance that due to weather related issues the pilots became bound to come back to Kolkata from mid-air and added that the flight will now be rescheduled for Silchar at 1.30 PM today. It was then that around 10 AM fresh boarding passes were issued to the passengers.

However, surprisingly, IndiGo departed from Kolkata airport at 9.18 AM and arrived at Silchar Airport at 10.30 AM. Though it’s rainy weather at Silchar, but the pilots of IndiGo were able to make a safe landing. Passengers failed to find the answer from Air India officials as to why their aircraft failed to land at Silchar when around the same time IndiGo made a safe landing. The IndiGo has even went back on its return journey from Silchar to Kolkata. This was informed in a social media post by Dr. Himadri Sekhar Das, a passenger of AI-753.

As per latest information, the flight failed to land at Silchar even at its 2nd attempt. Air India has provided food and accomodation to all its stranded passengers. AI 753 will now fly for Silchar at 5.50 AM on Sunday.
